Wolves are stunning creatures. They hold a certain amount of majesty and elegance that one cannot find in dogs. The Mexican gray wolf and the red wolf are among the rarest mammals in North America, and both species at one time were completely extinct in the wild. Presently there are approximately 400 Mexican gray wolves and 300 red wolves remaining in the world.
Wolves are legendary because of their spine-tingling howl, that haunts the night with its forlorn, low tune. They hunt in cordinated packs, and catch their prey with deadly and cordinated precision.
It's hard to imagine that our adorable household pets may have connections to these stunning beasts.
